Kraken's Roadmap

This article documents some changes in the kraken development process triggered by the Mantis's roadmap feature.

Version numbers

The version numbers now are directly related with the sprint number. For example: the version 2.0.10 is the result of Sprint 10.

Intermediate releases will now have rcN suffix, where @N@ is a integer. This suffix indicates that the version is not the final result of a sprint but a "Release Candidate".

Issue Category

The category field in the issues were used to indicate the sprint which the issue would be implemented. With the new "Target Version" field the category can be used more appropriately.

The current categories for Kraken20 are:

  • Sci 2.0
  • Plots 1.0
  • Performance

Note: The fact that the bugs in sci20 are noted in Kraken project is another problem that will be addressed in the future.
